British Ceramics Biennial

30 October 2011

Starting on 30th September – 13 November a local festival is being held to celebrate ‘British Ceramics Biennial 2011’

‘The BCB is a major national project based in Stoke on Trent that was first presented in 2009. The initiative comprises of two core elements: BCB Projects – Making Ceramics in the City and the Biennial Festival – Showcasing Ceramics in the City.

The six week festival is the UK’s leading showcase of contemporary ceramics. Exhibitions, events, workshops, installations, tours and international collaborations will spread across two main festival hubs – the former Spode factory site in Stoke, and at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery and Air Space in the City Centre.

In 2009 the BCB Festival attracted 35,000 visits to Stoke on Trent and received both national and international press coverage. The festival, now it its second year, is looking to showcase the best of British manufacturing as part of its core exhibition programme.

A Great Wall is the title of an exhibition that will be shown as part of the BCB Festival programme of exhibitions in Stoke during 30 Sept -13 November to which we have made product entries and displays will be on site during the six week period. In addition to this we will be supporting the restaurant facilities with our product for all visitors to use within their catering facility ‘the factory refectory’ and running prize draws and creating brand awareness to a large audience.

On this date Steelite International will be holding an event at the BCB hub in Stoke. Top chef Brian Turner will be running a series of cookery demonstrations and providing top tips on how to make an impression when entertaining. The event is ticket only - tickets can be purchased by visiting www.britishceramicsbiennial.com.

The ticket will also give you a free pass on our Made for Life bus and entry to our factory in Middleport where all the magic happens. We hope to see you there!
