Steelite International launches a ‘Charity Christmas Countdown’, donating £500 each day to local initiatives throughout the month of December.
Steelite International will continue to ‘Give Something Back’ this Christmas as it prepares to donate a total of £10,000 to local charities and community projects within a 5 mile radius of the factory as part of its ‘Charity Christmas Countdown’. Employees from within the business will be urged to nominate charities to which they have a particular affinity and then one charity each day will be drawn from a hat. ‘Employee Champions’; a concept introduced to ensure that people’s views and opinions from across the business could be heard, will then present the £500 donation to each local charity.
This initiative comes after Steelite International, in partnership with The Sentinel, also pledged £1000 worth of Christmas gifts to a local individual or family who is especially needy or has had a hard time this year. The winner of the competition will be presented with their donation at the Steelite Christmas party on December 12th at 12pm.
About Giving Something Back
Corporate and personal values extend beyond the workplace and in to the community surrounding the factory as the Company now has a designated community fund, 'Giving Something Back'.
The community fund was set up in 2013 and, since then, Steelite International has helped over 80 fantastic causes in line with our fields of giving: youth aspiration, the elderly, community regeneration and supporting new ceramic entrepreneurs.
We believe that by narrowing our fields of giving to a five mile radius; to those which have the greatest affinity with employees and the business as a whole, we can ensure that our charitable donations have a much greater impact.
Our Giving Something Back community fund is not just about financial donations as often, time and the sharing of skills are more valuable commodities. Steelite International is therefore in a position to offer much more; our time to support community projects and the sharing of our business expertise with new entrepreneurs.
