Supporting local business for Chef’s Table launch

We’re proud to support a local business, Feasted, for the launch of their Chef’s Table on Friday 14th October.

The Founder of Feasted, Cris Cohen, came to Steelite with a vision. Feasted is about food, but it is also about telling stories and educating people around food, adding value, sharing, and bringing it all together.

Cris commented: “Steelite ceramics are a great foundation for the food that, myself and the F E A S T E D team have curated. Through the tasting menu at our Chefs Table we are looking to create a belief that we can be ambitious with food from the heart of the city here at Spode Works.”

For the Chef’s Table experience Cris will be creating dishes close to his heart with a new micro-seasonal, hyper-local tasting menu. Representing his own gastronomic journey in making Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, his home. From the people he’s met, to the culture and heritage of the six towns that come together to make a city. Expect big flavours and narratives running through every dish.

Cris mentioned: “Along the way, there have been naysayers, non-believers, and the ones who don’t believe that Stoke on Trent is the place for Gastronomy. ‘People don’t like it like that ‘round here, duck!’ is a phrase he’s heard a million times before, but they do. They do like it like that around here. There is aspiration and hope in this City, a desire for more and to connect with the heritage that we have. Look up and look around you, and you will see snippets of that in your everyday, we promise.”

Furthermore, Cris is passionate about sustainability within the food industry. Sharing similar values, Steelite wanted to support the brand by supplying tableware, tailored to the menu and incorporating a part of Stoke on Trent’s heritage into this experience. Currently sold out throughout October, we’re looks forward to seeing the further success of the new addition to the fine dining sector.
